The last few weeks have been hard. There are so many things to be grateful for, and yet we lost some good friends in the last two months. Megan has had some setbacks with serial casting on the fingers of her left hand- and yet she never stopped making cards for others- even with casts, swollen fingers, and much pain. We are so very grateful to the friends we have- holidays are so hard and yet they continue to make us smile.
We are grateful and most of all hopeful for new chances - and perhaps blessings- in 2013.
(Above- Megan with thank you notes she has made- and her healing left hand- which is getting ready to begin casting again in the coming weeks.)
Happy New Year and God Bless you in 2013!

Christmas Cheer
This year especially we need to spread Christmas cheer. Megan has been making Christmas cards for quite a few months and it is almost time to mail them.
wedding wishes
Megan made this card for a friend attending a wedding. Not sure why I can not get it to display correctly but this was made with Teddy Bear Parade cartridge, Martha Stewart Tinsel glitter, I rock gems and a lot of cricut cuts! Note the tulle also added to the veil.
Beary Thoughtful Nurse
This card was made for a very wonderful nurse who took care of Megan and her friends at school. We wish her luck in her new job!
Remembering our heroes
Megan's lemonade stand for Staten Island Project Homefront in Sept was successful- it raised 837 dollars- not bad for a colder evening on a weeknight! Megan also made some Christmas Cards for Wounded Warriors.

Lemonade stand for Staten Island Project Homefront
A friend is launching their new business, ASAP property management, on Thursday, Sept. 27th. They graciously invited Megan to bring her lemonade stand to raise money for charity. She chose the Staten Island Project Homefront. Here is the poster we spent most of Saturday making.

trip to remember
Our friend, Larry, is a roller coaster enthusiast who travels the world and goes to amusement parks for his vacation. He wanted a special "thank you" card for trip organizers Robb and Elissa who made the arrangements for the latest trip- to China. Since Megan has also seen this couple on the travel channel network, she really wanted to make this card special!

Nemo and Dory Anniversary Card
Megan used the Best of Pixar cricut cartridge to make this card. The waves were from Life is a Beach. Megan used Martha Stewart tinsel glitter to make the waves look like they were capped with foam. The card was for Nanny and Poppy who celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this week.

Staten Island Project Homefront
The organization Staten Island Project Homefront is in constant need of supplies for the troops. We took a trip to Target and got some supplies. We made some cards and headed over to Moravian Church and met with Debbie. Debbie showed us around and it was a very humbling experience. our troops are sacrificing so much and they are so grateful for the items they receive. They love to get letters of encouragement. Please remember those serving, get a few extra groceries and drop them off. Tell the kids no TV till they make a card for a soldier. Let them know how much we appreciate them. THANK YOU Staten Island Project Homefront- the angels who help our troops!
Ronald McDoanld House
My husband's Knights of Columbus Council held a fifty fifty raffle for the Ronald McDonald House. Of course, a poster was needed last minute so Megan went to work! Pretty good for last minute!
Megan must be pretty tired- her eyes are closed!

Wounded Warriors Project
Hi- we were blessed to attend a Wounded Warriors fundraiser recently. Our local Councilman, Jim Oddo, decided to use the Staten Island Richmond County Ballpark as the venue for a fundraising softball game with the Staten Island Yankees, Wounded Warrior team, and local people participating. Scott Lobaido donated a gorgeous picture that he painted on the field, there were Wounded Warrior cheerleaders cheering and many veterans attending. Unfortunately, the game itself got rained out but the generosity of those there still raised over 20 thousand.
How does one say thank you? Megan made some great cards using Stand and Salute by following the guidelines of the Wounded Warrior project. We hope it helps.
To all of those who served, thank you!!!!!!! God Bless You!

Engagement Card
Megan made this engagement card using the Sweethearts cartridge. Loved the miniature Tiffany's box and used a tiny rhinestome for the ring on the cover of the card. Congratulations and best wishes to Jen and Anthony. Jen is Megan's occupational therapist who shares our belief that one can never have too many gluesticks!

dreaming of summer fun
Sometimes waiting can be boring. Megan made summer decorations for a friend who works at a local hospital.
sweet success for Strong Kids Campaign
Megan's Lemonade stand for the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign was a wonderful success! THANK YOU to the Staten Island Yankees who hosted the event at the Richmond County Ballpark. We are grateful to those who were able to attend, and also thank you to all those who supported the event even though they could not make it that day. Donations were mailed in from all over the country. Special thank you to the New York Yankees who inspired Megan to keep her lemonade stand going with the special lemonade stand they built her in July 2011. Over 10,500 dollars were raised for the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign!
See pictures above- Erin helped Megan with the lemons and the lemonade stand! See the thank you cards that Megan has been making for almost two weeks now- we have so many to do! (sorry that picture is sideways! not sure how I did that1)

Saying thank you for baseball field
This card took Megan a while to make- see her pink wheelchair- but it was a fun way to say thank you to the parish that allows her school to use their baseball field. The kids had a really fun baseball season this year.
Megan made sure each player had a bat, ball, and glove. (This was a LOT of cuts on the Cricut Expression! Lots of glue too!)Monday, April 23, 2012
Sweet 16 card for sweet classmate
One of Megan's classmates in her "cricut class" turns 16 this week. This sweet girl gets a card that made Megan smile as she made it. Among the elements used were the Forever Young cartridge, Circut Classic Fonts cartridge, the Cuttlebug and also the Cricut Craft room. Happy Birthday, Emma!
spring flowers for charity
Megan made almost 100 flowers with the cricut - each designed and "blinged" differently. These 4 inch flowers were used as favors at a charity event held by her Columbiettes Council. Megan started making them months ago as she was recuperating from surgery. She even decorated them during therapy!

Looking to the Future Birthday Card
Megan loved making this birthday card. She wanted the alien, spacehip, rocket, astronaut and lots of stars. Lots of cuts with the Cricut but it was fun. She loved the sparkly paper although we got glitter on everything. We had a lot of fun with this one- and used a lot of glue. Time to clean up now....
